In an interview with TVLand, Williams said, “In my innocence and naiveté, I assumed that these were not real skeletons. Either way, they were really, really there. It was cheaper to use real skeletons than fake ones. In Poltergeist, Diane (JoBeth Williams) falls into a pool. Many fans who try to trace the root of the hauntings and the curse believe one possible explanation is that, well, real human skeletons were used in filming the movie. It’s a wild story for those who haven’t heard about the strange happenings for those who worked on the original Poltergeist films. A rash of deaths linked to the cast? Check.
